Our story began with our founder, Hal Hummel, whose entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the American Dream laid the foundation for what Clover is today.

Hal entered the pool business in 1950, starting as a part-time pioneer in vinyl liner installations. From building filters in his basement to opening our first store on Walzer Road in Irondequoit, Hal’s dedication and innovation propelled Clover forward. In 1968, we opened our first retail store on Ridge Road East, which marked a new chapter of growth.

As demand increased and our product offerings expanded into hot tubs, patio furniture, and more, we moved to our current location at 960 Ridge Road East in 1992. For over 50 years, we’ve been proud to call Irondequoit our home and to grow alongside the Rochester community.
